4-H Babysitters Training Course

Training for a potential summer job opportunity - get 4-H certified to babysit! The 4-H Babysitters Training Course is for youth 12 & older who are interested in taking care of younger children, being a mother's helper or the go-to neighborhood babysitter. Get familiar with child development, nutrition, safety & First Aid and earn your Certificate of Completion.

The 4-H Babysitters Training Course teaches youth ages 12 and older what they need to know to be caring, trustworthy, responsible and competent babysitters. 

The course includes units on:

• Safety
• First Aid
• Child Development
• Nutrition
• Entertaining Children
• Business of Babysitting

 Total duration of the course is about 8 hours and will be split into three sessions over three days. It's mandatory to attend ALL sessions to receive your completion certificate. There will be no makeup sessions and kids have to be there the whole time--no partial days. 

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from UNH Extension and 4-H.

REGISTRATION:

• Register for the event through ZSuite by June 26th. Participants must be enrolled and have an active account in ZSuites.

Instructions for registering for an event in ZSuite:

• You MUST be signed in as the PRIMARY account to register member for an event.
• Once you log into your PRIMARY account, click the 'Events' link in the left navigation menu.
• All events that are open to you for registration will appear, search for "4-H Babysitters Training Course".  Click on the registration button to register your household members.
• Choose the member you want to register by clicking on the turquoise 'REGISTER' button. Notice that the status says, "in progress", meaning the registration is not complete. Once you have completed the registration this will change.
• The turquoise button will change to 'Update Registration' after you click registration and answer any questions if there are any questions asked.  When you have registered all household members attending the event click on the blue 'Submit Registration'.
• The next screen will show you that the registration is complete.
• If you go back to 'Events' you can see who is registered and update the information if needed.

COST:

• Participation fee is $10.00 per youth.
• If paying by check make payment out to "Merrimack County 4-H Foundation".
• Please mail payment to UNHCE - Merrimack at 315 Daniel Webster Hwy. Boscawen, NH 03303.
• Payment MUST be received by  NOON ON JUNE 26 to confirm a space in the course. We will not accept payment the day of the event. A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals unable to pay.
